Recently, the crew of Thalapathy Vijay‘s highly anticipated film The Greatest of All Time, also known as GOAT, returned from Russia, after they wrapped up shooting for pivotal scenes. Vijay, along with the team returned to India, to exercise their vote for the Lok Sabha Elections 2024.
Now, a new video of the crew shooting in Russia has gone viral on social media. The video sees the film’s director Venkat Prabhu interacting with the Russian media. In the short clip, the director is seen talking about the reason behind shooting for the film in Russia.
In the short glimpse shared by a Russian media outlet, Venkat Prabhu spoke about how Moscow adds an interesting value to the story, stating that Vijay’s character experiences a key transformation there. Venkat revealed that Moscow plays a significant role in the film’s story as Vijay’s character “undergoes a major turn of events where he realises a lot of stuff and things that happen here.”
He also revealed the reason behind choosing Moscow, was to offer audiences a fresh visual experience which is not common in South Indian cinema. Venkat Prabhu further spoke about cultural ties between India and Russia expressing hope about future collaborations.
A few weeks ago, a video from the movie’s set went viral where Vijay can be seen enjoying riding a kick scooter. It seemed like the actor was having fun during the shoot of the film GOAT in Russia.
A week ago, the makers of GOAT released the first single, titled Whistle Podu, from the film. The peppy song, composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja, set a record within hours of its release. With Whistle Podu, Vijay beat his own record for the most-viewed song within the first 24 hours.
GOAT is all set to release on September 5, 2024.
