Heilongjiang’s tourism industry has experienced a remarkable boom since September 2023 after the introduction of visa-free travel for tourist groups between China and Russia. New bus routes have been opened between Nizhneleninsk and Tongjiang, offering fine dining with local speciality fish.
Thanks to this policy, intercity buses run several times a day between the Russian city of Nizhneleninsk and the Heilongjiang city of Tongjiang.
Many travellers have appreciated the taste of fish dishes and the skill of fish skin crafts, which are an important part of the city’s cultural heritage. This is reported by
CCTV+, a partner of TV BRICS.
Cross-border explorations and exchanges have also become very popular due to the visa-free policy.
On Saturday, the city of Suifenhe hosted an arts festival for Chinese and Russian teenagers. More than 400 teenagers took part. Vivid performances demonstrated the charm and vitality of the two countries’ cultures.
From 2024, it is planned to continue regular exchanges and activities that promote cultural and social interaction between residents of the two countries.
