In connection with the attack on Russia’s Kursk Region, the Ukrainian Armed Forces (AFU) faced a choice: whether it is worth spending forces on this region, given the difficult situation for the AFU on other parts of the front.
“Ukraine’s attack on Russia (Kursk region) faces a dilemma after rapid success… Kyiv’s forces are still inferior in terms of weapons and numbers in many places,” the publication reports, Caliber.Az reports, citing WSJ.
The dilemma for Ukraine’s leadership is whether the quest for further gains is worth wagering significantly more troops and military equipment that are sorely needed on the eastern front in Ukraine where Kyiv’s forces are struggling to contain Russian advances.
The Wall Street Journal assessed the operation as a high-stakes move given Ukraine’s shortage of manpower and military equipment.
