A presentation of the Caucasus
Investment Forum 2024 was held in Moscow as part of the Forum programme for the
heads of regional information policy departments. The speakers at the event
included Assistant to the Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Alexander
Novak Olga Golant, and Deputy Director of the Roscongress Foundation and
Director of the Caucasus Investment Forum Vladimir Zatynayko. This year’s Forum
will take place on 15–17 July in Grozny, the first event of its kind to be held
at the residence of the Head of the Chechen Republic.
Those who attended the event learned about
what happened at the first Caucasus Investment Exhibition, which took place in
May 2023 in the city of Mineralnye Vody. From this year on, the Caucasus
Investment Forum will be held on an annual basis in different regions of the
North Caucasus Federal District, as per the decision of the President of the
Russian Federation. Its goal is to increase the investment potential of the
North Caucasus Federal District to ensure the sustainable socioeconomic
development.
Adviser to the President of the Russian
Federation and Executive Secretary of the CIF 2024 Organizing Committee Anton
Kobyakov noted the importance of holding an investment forum in the North
Caucasus. “The economy of the North Caucasus regions is developing rapidly. The
North Caucasus Federal District is becoming increasingly attracting to
investors. According to the study ‘The North Caucasus Federal District
Investment Portfolio 2023,’ the volume of large-scale investment projects increased by 47 per cent
between 2020 and 2023, with the total investment portfolio of the North Caucasus
Federal District amounting to 955.36 billion roubles. The main industries are tourism infrastructure and the agro-industrial
complex. The number of green energy projects has also increased. Projects for
the development of engineering and transport infrastructure are being
consolidated. I am confident that holding the Caucasus Investment Forum in the
Chechen Republic this year will ensure additional capital growth, not only in
this region, but in the entire North Caucasus Federal District, and will create
new growth points for the business community,” Anton Kobyakov stressed.
Special attention was paid during the presentation to the concept of the
Caucasus Investment Forum 2024, to its youth and cultural programmes and the venue’s
infrastructure. The programme for this year’s Forum includes more than 60 sessions. The
focus will be on the development of entrepreneurship, the agro-industrial
complex, the transport infrastructure, industry, the banking sector,
international cooperation, healthcare, the humanitarian agenda, and other
topics. The youth programme will cover all three days of the Forum and will
bring together more than 1,000 young people, students, and aspiring professionals.
The marquee event of the Forum will be its plenary session.
The Caucasus Investment Forum
will also host the first ever Apex Investment Award. More than 250 applications
from 42 Russian regions have been submitted for consideration for the 11 categories
of awards. The awards ceremony will be attended by members of government,
representatives of foreign delegations, and executives from the biggest Russian
and foreign companies.
The main theme of the Caucasus Investment Forum 2024 is “The Greater Caucasus: From
Sea to Sea”. Discussions
at the event will focus on the development of the investment potential of the
North Caucasus and Southern federal districts, as well as of the CIS countries
and the Caspian and Black sea basins. The Forum is being held in accordance
with a Russian Presidential Decree. It is organized by the Roscongress
Foundation, with the support of the Ministry of Economic Development of the
Russian Federation.
