The Prosecutor General of Russia Igor Krasnov pointed out the formalism of supervision in Saratov region and urged to reconsider the approach to dealing with citizens’ appeals, the regional media resource “Vzglyad-Info” reports today, August 1.
Such a statement was made by the head of the country’s supervisory authority during an operational meeting, where the results of the work of the Russian prosecutor’s office in the first half of 2024 were summed up.
“There are quite a lot of complaints about the organization of work with citizens’ appeals, primarily in connection with the facts of their multiple redirection, contrary to the law, to the body whose actions are being appealed, or to officials who directly committed violations,” the website of the Prosecutor General’s Office quotes Igor Krasnov.
As a formal approach to solving the problems of citizens by prosecutors, Igor Krasnov cited as an example the situation with the provision of electricity to homes in Engels district, Saratov region (head — Dmitry Plekhanov).
The Prosecutor General’s Office has already responded to the situation.
The subject of the analysis was the actions of the prosecutor of Engels Dmitry Zhuravlev and his “team”.
Today Igor Krasnov noted that the problem was solved formally — the light was returned to the citizens, but three days later the electricity was turned off again.
As it turned out, the previously installed equipment was dismantled and taken away.
The Prosecutor General demanded that his subordinates respond promptly to emerging hotbeds of tension, give specific instructions on eliminating violations, and monitor their actual execution.
Igor Krasnov, addressing the heads of the territorial supervisory authorities (the Saratov regional Prosecutor’s office was represented by the regional prosecutor Sergey Filipenko via videoconference), emphasized that as in There should be no Saratov region in Russia.
