Yury Ushakov, Russian presidential foreign policy aide, has claimed that Western nations have exerted pressure on countries set to participate in the upcoming BRICS summit in Kazan.
Speaking to Russian media, Ushakov noted that despite this pressure, the representation from various nations, particularly African states, remains significant, Caliber.Az reports.
“While there has been pressure on certain countries, as I mentioned, the participation from African nations is notably robust. However, it is clear that such pressure will persist,” Ushakov remarked.
The BRICS summit, scheduled to take place from October 22 to 24, is expected to attract 24 nations, confirming the attendance of heads of state. The gathering underscores the growing influence of the BRICS bloc in the global arena amidst geopolitical tensions.
