Russia has expressed interest in joint partnership and investment in the production of electronic and digital devices in Bangladesh. On Thursday, in the morning, the Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Bangladesh, Alexander Mantytskiy, met the Minister of State for Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology, Zunaid Ahmed Palak.
The chairman of Bangladesh Communication Satellite Company Limited Dr. Shahjahan Mahmud, Managing Director of Hi-Tech Park Authority GSM Zafar Ullah and Third Secretary of Russian Embassy Mr. Oleg Cousin were present.
Ambassador Alexander Mantytsky congratulated State Minister Palak by mentioning the contribution of ICT sector in the growth of Bangladesh with the greetings brought to the meeting. He also expressed interest that Russian investors want to be partners in this development journey. At the same time, the State Minister for Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology highlighted the opportunities of increasing the partnership in the production of electronic and digital devices as well as the investment opportunities in various public and private sectors, giving the example of the huge investment of South Korean and Chinese companies in the specialized zone of the Hi-Tech Park.
He said, apart from this, we always welcome any investment, technology and innovative cooperation in innovation and progress in building Smart Bangladesh. We believe both countries will benefit through cooperation. And cooperation has no boundaries.
After the meeting at the ICT Tower, in the meeting with the Minister of Education Mohibul Hasan Chowdhury at the Secretariat, the Russian Ambassador also expressed his interest in solving the complexity of providing equivalence of degrees obtained in Russian educational institutions and increasing opportunities for cooperation in nuclear engineering education and medical science degrees. In that meeting, Secretary of Secondary and Higher Education Department Soleman Khan, Additional Secretary of Secondary and Higher Education Department (University) Khaleda Akhtar and Third Secretary of Russian Embassy Mr. Oleg Cousin were present.
