Russian tennis star Daniil Medvedev dropped a disappointing revelation about tennis. This ATP Pro was facing off against Spain’s tennis prodigy Carlos Alcaraz at the finals of the ongoing Indian Wells tournament. However, the audience’s response from the gallery of the stadium impacted Medvedev’s performance. As a result, things turned out pretty bad for this Russian tennis star and he made a disheartening comment.
Medvedev encountered Alcaraz back in last year’s BNP Paribas Open finals too. At that point, this Russian tennis star lost the title to the Spaniard tennis player. Since the event also repeated this time, angry Medvedev made a harsh comment.
Recently, a reliable tennis source dropped a clip on their X (formerly Twitter) profile, where fans spotted frustrated Medvedev saying -“tennis is such a shit sport”. Medvedev was spotted visibly upset at the crowd as they tried to break the Russian ATP star’s confidence during the match. During the first tie-breaker, Medvedev lost against Alcaraz. However, the Spaniard received huge support from the fans, which influenced his ultimate win at the finals of the ongoing Indian Wells tournament.

Medvedev took over America’s Tommy Paul to reach the finals of this prestigious tournament. He said about this game- “It was very tough. When it’s evening and cold here, it’s very tough to go through the serve, I understood that, and he played an unbelievable first set. So I was like, OK, if I want to win I just have to try to do a little bit better to find the shot that’s going to make him in trouble. I found some, especially on my serve.”
This was Medvedev’s perfect moment to seek revenge for last year’s failure. However, the Russian ATP star couldn’t seize the day with his victory and lost the title to Carlos Alcaraz.

After defeating Tommy Paul, Medvedev once again faced off against his old competition in the BNP Paribas Open tournament, Carlos Alcaraz. Medvedev seemed pretty charged up to try his luck against the Spaniard this time. He commented– “I saw Carlos today, he was playing pretty well, second and third set especially, I know what happened last year so I’m going to try my best to try to turn this around, to play better, to play stronger, more on the lines, hit more aces, stuff like this. Hopefully I will be able to do it. I will recover and get ready for the fight tomorrow.” Despite so many preparations, Daniil Medvedev lost against Alcaraz for the second time on the soil of Indian Wells.
Medvedev’s disappointing comment on the sport represented that spectators are completely unaware of their influences on tennis players. If the gallery was less cruel to Medvedev, he could have won against Alcaraz or at least had a chance to bag the title. However, the crowd’s bullying impacted his game and he lost again.
