Today, South Ossetia is celebrating a big holiday – on August 26, Russia signed a fateful decree recognizing the independence of our Republic, – President of the Republic of South Ossetia Alan Gagloev said at the meeting with Deputy Chairman of the Committee on External Relations of the City of St. Petersburg Evgeny Kassyura.
“We feel your constant support, and we are glad to see you here on such an important day for us,” the President said.
The head of state has emphasized that about 140 agreements have been signed with the Russian Federation; South Ossetia is working to strengthen cooperation with Russia and is doing everything possible to further rapprochement with it.
“We are committed to constructive work with the Russian Federation and will make every effort to do so,” the President has added.
Evgeny Kassyura has emphasized that today is a holiday not only for South Ossetia, but also a major event for entire Russia.
“It is very important for us to continue interaction with South Ossetia, we are very glad that there is an opportunity to celebrate this significant date together with you,” Kassyura said.
The head of state awarded Kassyura with a medal in commemoration of the 15th anniversary of the victory in the Patriotic War of the People of South Ossetia.
