Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico has expressed support for renewing relations with Russia during a meeting with MPs.
“I stand for revitalizing our relationship with Russia,” he stated, emphasising his ongoing efforts to balance ties with Moscow, Caliber.Az reports, citing Russian media.
On October 16, Fico remarked that holding new conferences to resolve the Ukraine conflict without Russia’s involvement is pointless.
He also noted a high likelihood of the conflict settlement in the near future, anticipating potential developments at the upcoming summit in Brussels, where Ukraine’s joining NATO will be discussed.
Fico stated in early October that the Ukrainian conflict remains unresolved, as Western nations continue supporting Kyiv. He argued that, in reality, anti-Russian sentiments yield no positive results for Western countries.
As a result, he expressed confidence that achieving a military ceasefire is impossible. Previously, Slovakia halted its military assistance to Ukraine.
