Kyiv: Ukraine has once again been shaken by the Russian drone attack. Russia launched a massive drone attack on the city of Mykolaiv early Sunday, causing a fire in a hotel and damaging several energy sector infrastructures. Along with this, 7 people were seriously injured. The provincial governor gave this information. The attack came at a time when Ukrainian troops are facing shortage of ammunition in the war that has been going on for more than two years. Ukrainian President Zelensky is continuously requesting help from European countries including America.
Vitaly Kim, the governor of Ukraine’s southern Mykolaiv province, said Russian drones “seriously damaged” a hotel in the provincial capital (Mikolayiv). The attack caused a fire in the hotel which was however later extinguished. Kim also said the attack had damaged the infrastructure that heats the city’s homes and offices, but gave no details.
Russian government agency RIA claimed that the attack on Mykolaiv targeted a ‘shipyard’ where naval drones are assembled, as well as a hotel where “English-speaking mercenaries” stay.
